White Gold Diamond Rings
Bright metal that lets the center lead. These white gold rings are engagement settings: solitaires, halos, pave shanks, trilogy and vintage designs. Small stones set in the metal are lab-grown diamond accents. The center diamond is chosen next, in round, oval, cushion and seven more shapes, and most designs also take fancy pink, yellow, blue or green.

- Solitaire: a clean white gold band holding one center, nothing else.
- Halo: a border of small stones so the center reads wider.
- Pave shank: stones running down the band for sparkle in profile.
Why white gold reads cool
Underneath, white gold is a pale gold alloy; a rhodium coat gives it the mirror-white face. It flatters colorless centers and makes a pink or blue stone look crisper. Settings are offered in 10K, 14K or 18K white gold.
Profile and height
Study the side view before you decide. Cathedral arches lift the center higher off the finger, while a hidden halo tucks a ring of stones under the head, seen only at an angle. Split shank and bypass bands broaden the shoulders and carry a larger center well.
Keeping the white bright
Rhodium thins with daily rubbing, and after a year or two the metal can show a faint warm cast. Replating at a jeweler's bench takes little time. In between, a lukewarm soapy soak and a lint-free cloth bring the shine back.
White Gold Diamond Rings: Common Questions
Is white gold good for rings?
Yes. White gold is strong enough to wear daily, grips prongs firmly and costs less than platinum. Its rhodium coat gives the bright white tone that flatters a colorless center. Budget for replating every year or two to hold that color.
What is the stamp on a white gold ring?
A karat mark inside the shank. 10K may read 10K or 417, 14K reads 14K or 585, and 18K reads 18K or 750; the numbers give parts of pure gold per thousand. These settings come in 10K, 14K or 18K white gold.
Can I shower in 14K white gold?
Yes, plain water won't hurt 14K white gold. Shampoo and body wash do coat the center stone in a dulling film, though, and harsh cleaners can thin the rhodium over time. Setting the ring aside while you shower keeps it brighter between cleanings.
Can a white gold ring get scratched?
Yes. Any precious metal picks up marks with daily wear, and white gold shows fine lines on its polished face. Light marks buff out, and a fresh rhodium coat brings the shine back. Set it aside for lifting, soil and scouring pans.
Does 14k white gold last?
Yes. 14K white gold holds up for decades and is harder than 18K. What wears is the thin rhodium surface, not the gold beneath, so replating every year or two keeps it bright. Ask for a prong check at the same visit.
