Point up or point down
Hung point up, a pear draws the eye to the face; point down, it lengthens the neck and looks more classic. One design flips its pears upward beside emerald cuts, while most let the rounded end fall lowest. Judge the direction against how you usually wear your hair.
Single drop or cascade

Caring for moving drops
Hinged links let the stones swing, but they can hook on a collar. Check backs and links before putting them on. Rinse the stones in mild soapy water with a soft brush, then store each earring apart so pear tips can't scratch the gold.
